Burleigh Heads with friends: a weekend itinerary for groups

A group getaway works best when nobody has to organise much. Here is an easy two-night plan for friends in Burleigh Heads, built around a walk to everything and a house that sleeps six adults.
Friday: arrive and wander
Check-in is from 3pm. Drop the bags, pick your bedrooms and take a stroll to James Street, which is a 2-minute walk away. Book dinner ahead if you are heading out, because the popular places fill up on weekends. Afterwards, wander back and gather around the firepit in the private leafy courtyard.
Saturday: market, beach and headland
Morning
Make a coffee with the espresso machine at the house, or head out for one. On Saturdays the Burleigh Farmers Market runs from 7am to midday at Burleigh Heads State School, which is a good place for breakfast, fresh produce and live music.
Midday
Burleigh Beach is under 10 minutes’ walk from the house. Swim between the flags, where the beach is patrolled. We stock a beach trolley with a drink chiller, beach towels and sunscreen, plus boogie boards, fins, a cabana tent and an insulated picnic set.
Afternoon
Walk the Ocean View Walk in Burleigh Head National Park. It is 1.2 kilometres one way, through rainforest and pandanus palms to Echo Beach at Tallebudgera Creek, where you can cool off before heading back.
Evening
Keep it easy with a barbecue and the pizza stone on the deck. The outdoor lounge seats four and the indoor dining table seats six, so everyone gets a spot.

Sunday: a slow finish
Linger over breakfast, take a last dip and enjoy the courtyard. Check-out is at 10am, so you can still squeeze in a coffee on James Street on your way out.
Tips for a group stay
- Sleeping: the house sleeps up to six adults. The main bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third has a double bed with a single bunk above.
- Bathrooms: there are 2.5 bathrooms, so mornings run smoothly.
- No cleaning fees: the price you see is easier to split between friends.
- Walk everywhere: with James Street and the beach close by, nobody needs to be the driver.
- Pets: up to two pets are welcome, with no extra charges.
Market times, opening hours and walking tracks can change. We wrote this on 2 November 2026, so check current details before you go. We ask guests to read the house rules before booking.
